Meet the Founder
As the owner of Paws On Hearts, I will walk alongside families with compassionate end-of-life care for their beloved pets, and care will continue with meaningful support for the families who love them. My years working as a Veterinary Technician allowed me to stand beside countless families during the emotionally difficult euthanasia process. Doctors, co-workers, and clients frequently recognized my natural ability to create safety and trust in these tender moments by knowing when to offer a tissue, extend a hand, listen deeply, or provide words of comfort.
This calling is both professional and personal. Every pet I’ve lost has felt like the goodbye came too soon. When love runs this deep, there are no words that quite feel adequate. Having navigated my own painful life experiences, I’ve learned how to show up with steady, nonjudgmental presence during times of emotional overwhelm. I strive to be a calm lighthouse for those navigating the waves of grief. Through Paws On Hearts, I am able to bring this together in offering dignified cremation services as well as creating a space for healing.
Beyond cremation, Paws On Hearts is a community hub for grief support. I offer regular in-person gatherings where people can connect, share, and feel supported in any phase of grief experienced. I have found that processing grief takes many forms, so there are many ways to explore it with a group and break the silence of isolation during these times. This is a center for an inclusive space where all forms of grief are honored through talk, art, sound, and workshops. By starting small in our local community, I hope to transform how we collectively understand and move through grief with gentleness, creativity, and connection.
I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to bring this much needed service and community support to Nevada County. If you’re reading this in the midst of loss, I want you to know that you don’t have to carry this alone.
